Was sind Ghostbikes?

Ghost Bikes (auch: Geisterrad, Mahnrad) sind weiße Fahrräder, die als Mahnmale dort aufgestellt werden, wo Radfahrende im Straßenverkehr tödlich verletzt wurden. Neben der Funktion als Mahnmal bzw. Gedenkstätte sollen sie auch auf mögliche Gefahrenpunkte hinweisen.

In Frankfurt wurden seit 2015 insgesamt 21 Ghost Bikes aufgestellt.

What are Ghost Bikes?

Ghost bikes (also referred to as a ghostcycle or WhiteCycle) are bicycle roadside memorials, placed where a cyclist has been killed or severely injured. Apart from being a memorial, it is usually intended as a reminder to passing motorists to share the road.

In Frankfurt, 21 ghost bikes have been set up since 2015.
